CAA cracks down on errant gas traders

About 236 officials of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) have been deployed

to crack down on traders who sell gas cylinders at higher prices in Kurunegala and Puttalam districts.

Kurunegala District Senior Divisional Secretary W.E. Jayathilake told the Daily News yesterday (31) in Kurunegala, that the CAA has already filed cases against 30 traders who were arrested for selling gas cylinders at unreasonable prices. About six such errant traders have been arrested in both districts.
