An inquiry would be held against former Parliamentarian M.K. Sivajilingam as he has handed over his nomination as the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation’s (TELO’s) Presidential candidate without the permission of the party, TELO Party Leader Selvam Adaikalanathan said. He was addressing the media at a press briefing held yesterday at the TELO Headquarters in Vavuniya.
MP Adaikalanathan said that Sivajilingam did not inform the party of his move to hand over nomination. He added that although Sivajilingam is the Party President, he cannot take such a serious decision arbitrarily.
The TELO Party Leader said that following an investigation, Sivajilingam would be removed from the party if he was found guilty. However, former MP Shivajilingam said that he would contest as an independent candidate if he were to be removed from the party.
