Stray dogs, monkeys ravage Matale

Schoolchildren in Matale runs a great risk as stray dogs inhabit many schools in the area, parents said.

They said stray dogs and monkeys bite children more often and several students bitten by stray dogs were hospitalised last month.

Children in remote schools in the area are most affected as these schools lie close to sanctuaries, they said.

The parents, therefore, urge authorities to set up a proper security system to protect schoolchildren of such schools.
