The Jaffna Buddhist Association (JBA) distributed 2,000 Dhammapada books translated to Tamil among schoolchildren in the North, recently. The endeavour was funded by a group of Sri Lankans working in Israel, under the guidance of Ven. Pagoda Channawansa Thera.
The copies were distributed among students from the Mannipai Hindu College, Uduvil Muruga Murthi Vidyalaya, Madihe Pannaseeha Vidyalaya, Anuradhapura Zahira College, Osmania College, and the Kanderodai Tamil Kandiah Vidyasalai by JBA President A. Ravi Kumar.
