Rishen Rajapaksa (14), a Grade 9 student of S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Incidentally, October 1 also happened to be Rishen’s birthday. He was ably assisted in his endeavour by his father who is an airline pilot and mother, a businesswoman. The donation was made at a ceremony held at the school premises on October 1.

He said Rishen and his parents have also resolved the school’s drinking water problem by providing a tube well. Their gesture added a true meaning to International Children’s Day.

A large gathering including of students and their parents attended the donation ceremony.
