Suraksha Insurance Policy cover for students

The Suraksha Insurance Policy Scheme implemented for students has compensated 29,000 students to the tune of Rs 1,340 million up to October 1st during this year, the Education Ministry sources said.

From its inception in 2018, throughout the last year the Suraksha Insurance Policy has compensated 41,000 students with Rs 516 million. All the students between the age of 5 to 21 are covered by the Suraksha Insurance Policy. Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has taken measures to increase the amount of compensations. Accordingly the amount paid for inward patient per day has been increased from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 3,000. Students can cover the expenses used for purchasing drugs for 21 days, i.e. seven days prior to a hospitalization and 14 days after the discharge.
