Schoolteacher arrested for assaulting two students

Dambulla police arrested a schoolteacher on Monday (30) for assaulting two Grade 11 students of the Dambulla National School. He has been evading police for many days, police said.

The suspect had assaulted the two students on September 24, and they were hospitalised after the incident.

Their parents had lodged a complaint in Dambulla police regarding the incident.

The suspect was to be produced before the Dambulla Magistrate’s Court on Monday, police said.
