Gota seeks court’s permission to travel overseas

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa whose passport was impounded in connection with the D. A. Rajapaksa Museum case today sought Court’s permission to travel abroad for a medical check-up.

Filing a motion before Permanent High Court-at-Bar, President’s Counsel Ali Sabry appearing on behalf of Gotabahaya Rajapksa informed that his client is expecting to travel abroad between October 09 and October 12 for a medical check-up.

He further submitted to court that his client would contest the upcoming Presidential Election under SLPP ticket.

He moved court to release his passport for the purpose of verifying his identity as a Sri Lankan citizen.
