The grand crowning of Sri Lanka’s school cricketers boys and girls awards night - the 41st Observer-Mobitel School Cricketer of the Year popularly known as the ‘Mother of All Shows’ will take place at the Hilton Colombo today.
The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd has organized the 41st edition of the grand show with sponsorship of Mobitel.
There are 96 nominations for this year’s awards. Awards will be given to Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder, Best Wicket-keeper and Best All-rounder from Divisions one, two and three segments.
For the first time in history of the awards, the girls’ cricketers too will be awarded for their performances – the Best Batswoman, Best Bowler, Best All-rounder awards will be on offer for the girls segment.
The Best team and the Best Provincial teams will also be awarded. The most promising team too will be awarded at the mega show.
School cricket teams across the country have been considered for the awards.
