Kingsbury bomber’s remains ordered to be buried

Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake yesterday ordered that the remains of Mohamed Azam Mohamed Mubharak, who carried out the suicide attack at the Kingsbury hotel on Easter Sunday, be buried at the Borella public cemetery.

The Criminal Investigations Department yesterday informed the Magistrate that relatives of the suicide bomber had refused to accept his body parts, which comprised the remains of the explosives-carrying bomber who blew himself up.

The Magistrate ordered the Judicial Medical Officer to hand over Mubharak’s remains to the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretary.The Magistrate further ordered the Thimbirigaskatuwa Divisional Secretary to take action to bury the suicide bomber’s remains at the public cemetery in Borella, Colombo.

The Magistrate ordered the Grama Niladhari Officer in charge of the Borella Division to submit a report to the court.
