With swiftness in swing and fitness in mind and body as never before, the undergraduates of the College of Chemical Sciences and the Informatics Institute of Technology are in back to back combat for the second consecutive year. The big match between the two educational bodies commenced last year where the colours shown in a limited 50 over match determined the victor of the tournament.
As students burdened with a heavy academic load comprising chemistry, business management, software engineering etc., it is indeed a treat to see such a dedicated bunch of youngsters committing their time to bring honour to their Alma-maters. The effort that both CCS and IIT has put to ensure that students live a life that extends far beyond the pages of a textbook is noteworthy. This annual encounter not only brings the participants together but also all the students of the respective colleges to fill up the pavilions and roar a cheer as they witness their proud cricketers take the pitch.
We wish both the teams the best of luck and invite you to come witness the Clash of the Undergrads from 9:30 am onwards today (Sept.14) at the Colombo Colts Cricket Grounds.
