Pulmoddai assault case: Navy men released on surety bail

Trincomalee Chief Magistrate M.A. Mohammed Hamza ordered to release 12 Navy personnel including two Lieutenant Commanders who were remanded in connection with the assault on four fishermen and causing gunshot injuries on one of them in the sea off Pulmoddai coast on August 29, on a surety bail of Rs. 200,000 each.

The lawyers appearing for the suspects requested the release and the suspects were ordered to appear in court again on September 16. Fishermen who were assaulted identified four suspects when they were produced at an identification parade on Thursday (12).
