Arrested for stealing electronic equipment

A suspect who has been stealing electronic equipment from the warehouses was arrested by the Divisional Crimes Investigation Unit of Kelaniya in the Wattala area on Sunday.

The suspect is a 34-year-old resident of the area and has been handed over to the Peliyagoda police station.

Police found a bulk of stolen equipment including power generators, grinders, cycles and grill machines. The value of those items is said to be over Rs.five million. The suspect was to be produced before the Aluthkade No. 5 Magistrate's Courts yesterday.

The Divisional Crimes Investigation Unit is investigating.
