Lorry crashes into hotel in Katugastota

A lorry plying from Kandy to Katugastota crashed into Hela Bojunhala at the Siyabalagastenna on September 7.

The people of the area have informed the police the incident and police arrested the driver while he was attempting to flee the location.

He was intoxicated at the time of the arrest and his drunkenness was confirmed further at a medical test, police said.

He was to be produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court on September 8. Katugastota Police are investigating.
