Saviru Nanditha is first in island

A first for Anuradhapura Central College :

Saviru Nanditha Subasinghe, a Grade 6 student of Anuradhapura Central College, has been placed first in the island at the Maths and Science Olympiad this year, also in a first for his college.

He has obtained 73.25 percent to become the highest scorer in the country.

Saviru Nanditha who began his education at Siri Devamitta Viduhala in Rambewa was later admitted to Anuradhapura Central College where he obtained 184 marks at the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination.

He said he is grateful to his teachers at Anuradhapura Central College as well as Siri Devamiththa Vidyalaya for his achievements.

Saviru Nanditha has a younger sister, Sajini Siyanthi. His mother is Lalitha Kumari and father, Sampath Anuradha. The family resides in Rambewa.

Anuradhapura Central College Principal H.M. Abeykoon appreciated the child’s perseverance and said he was an example to the other students as well. He said the child’s achievements are also a tribute to his parents and teachers.
