Ammo dumped on state land

Police found a stock of non-electric detonators, including gelignite, left behind on state-owned land in Ilahiya Nagar, Pulmoddai, yesterday afternoon.

During a search operation conducted by the Police and the Army, 48 gelignite sticks, 355 non-electric detonators and 380 metres of service threads were recovered. Police suspect that it may have been dumped at the site for fear of detection as security forces and the police are conducting regular search operations. The Pulmoddai Police are conducting further investigations.
