Lands and Parliamentary Reforms Minister and Chief Government Whip of Parliament Gayantha Karunatilleka celebrated his birthday yesterday(21).
Karunatilleka who entered Parliament in year 2000 representing the Galle District, has continued to be a Member of Parliament for 19 years and managed to obtain the highest number of preferential votes in the Southern Province at the last Parliamentary Election.
He has always worked to fulfill the expectations of the general public by helping pass the Right to Information Act in Parliament as the Minister of Mass Media. He, as the Minister of Lands, is leading at present the National Programme of distributing a million land deeds as a prioritised programme of the Government.
