New Justice of Peace

A.M. Jayasekara, a former senior administrator and Director-General of the Aquaculture Development Authority, has been appointed an All-Island Justice of Peace, recently.

After graduating from the University of Peradeniya in 1969, he started his career as a Science Teacher at the Nugawela Central College and thereafter, served in several ministries, departments, semi-government agencies, as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

He also served in the universities of Peradeniya and Kelaniya, as well as in the Open University of Sri Lanka, as a visiting lecturer. While in the government service, he has assisted farming communities in a number of districts by implementing agricultural, livestock, and aquaculture development programmes.
