‘Next leader should address needs of all communities’

The present leaders are incapable of meeting people’s expectations. The country does not need people who indulge in politics for moneymaking proposes. The next leader of the country should be a person who clearly identified and understood the basic needs of the majority Sinhalese as well as the minority communities, Medawachchiya SLFP Electoral Organiser North Central Province Presidential Special Projects Director and former Minister Tissa Karaliyadda said.

Speaking at a press conference held at his residence, SLFP Electoral Organiser Karaliyadda said that currently all parties are engaged in the process of naming their Presidential candidates for the forthcoming elections.

Whoever is named by these parties, people’s responsibility is to elect a leader who truly loves his country and the nation to the office without falling prey to fanciful words uttered by candidates. The bounden duty of an elected leader is to fulfil the basic needs of the people. What the people in this country want is a united path followed by the SLFP, SLPP, leftists and all other minor parties that obey the ideas, views and experiences of senior leaders.
