A 37-year-old Indian woman was taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit with 1,250 grammes of cocaine worth Rs. 18,750 at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday morning.

The woman who arrived from Chennai on flight No. 6E 1203 was arrested at the BIA on suspicion.

Investigations are being carried out by Customs officers at the BIA under the guidance of Additional Director General of Customs Saman Ranawana, Director of Customs Gankewela, and Deputy Directors of Customs W.M.D.R. Jagath and Upali Rathnayake.
