Ashen, Nethin pilot Royal to victory

A second wicket partnership of 121 runs by Ashen Gamage 60 not out and an unbeaten 54 by Nethin Panapitiya guided Royal College Colombo to beat Maliyadeva Model School, Kurunegala by nine wickets in their inter school under 17 division two second round tournament cricket match played at Boyagane.

Batting first homesters were all out for 117 runs and Royalists notched up the required score with ease.

Maliyadeva Model School 117 in 29.2 overs (Yohan Wijesuriya 43, Imesh Senevirathne 36, Uthum Dissanayake 3/11, Nipuna Kandimaarachchi 2/16, Dan Kodiwela 2/23.

Royal College 121/1 in 15.4 overs (Ashen Gamage 60 n/o, Nethin Panapitiya 54/ n/o).

In another game in the same age group and same division Royalists beat Wadduwa Central by eight wickets in the match worked off at Colombo.
