MEPA investigates oil spill in Sea

The Marine Environment Protection Authority has commenced investigations into the oil spill in the ocean and coast from Mount Lavinia to Kalutara.

It is reported that oil leaked from a ship has spread to the coast. This can be seen most in the Wadduwa Pothupitiya and Panadura beaches. The MEPA said that it was in the process of clearing it.
