SL, Cambodia discuss boosting trade ties

President Maithripala Sirisena who is on a state visit to Cambodia on an invitation extended by its government, attended a business forum organised by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, in Phnom Penh, on Wednesday.

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Pakdei Techo Hun Sen also attended the event.

Broad attention was drawn to enhancing trade and commerce between the two countries.

Ways and means of working together as developing countries in the different sectors of trade and increasing relations between the two countries in a number of sectors such as garment and gem industries were also discussed.

The Cambodian Prime Minister spoke at the Business Forum, while State Minister Wasantha Senanayake, on behalf of the Sri Lankan government, addressed the Sri Lanka–Cambodia Business Forum.

Cambodia Chamber of Commerce President Neak Oknha Kith Meng, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chairperson and entrepreneurs representing both countries participated in the event.
