The Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG) earned recognition at the Sri Lanka Best Employer Brand Awards held recently at the Taj Samudra Hotel Colombo.

The awards organized by the Employer Branding Institute in collaboration with the World HRD Congress and the World Federation of HR professionals, is endorsed by CHRO ASIA , a Global Platform for heads of Human Resources. The Sri Lanka Best Employer Brand Awards feature premier organisations in the country, with an excellent track record in their Human Resources management coupled with the use of marketing communications effectively for human resource development.

The awarding criteria is based on translating and combining vision and action with HR strategy; building lines to mesh HR Strategy with Business; cultivating future competencies to enable building the organization to be future-ready; diversified culture within the organisation; employee benefits & engagement and providing equal opportunities to women leaders.

“HIPG was recognised in the best employer category which is an endorsement of the best practices we have implemented in terms of our current HR policies and overall HR strategy.

There was no financial obligation in being part of these awards as they are given purely on merit and the organisers do not expect any sponsorship.

The fact that HIP earned this award despite its youth being just two years in the industry, makes it all the more special. I am also extremely pleased that the Sri Lanka Best Employer Brand Awards are endorsed by a respected entity like CHRO Asia with certification provided by another august body such as the World Federation of HR Professionals,” said Jeevan Premasara, General Manager, Human Resources of HIPG.

Best Employer Brand Awards are celebrated in several geographic regions as a build-up to the Global Employer Brands, which are a part of the World HRD Congress.

The Sri Lanka Best Employer Brand Awards follows a stringent research policy in selecting organisations, and is headed by Dr. Indira Parikh, Ex-Dean of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
