Easy access to Government information - Ajith Perera

Deputy Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ajith Perera yesterday (6) said that the public will have more access to government information through the new policy of the E-government services that will be provided by the Ministry of Digital Information and Infrastructure and Information Technology.

“I feel the people have less information to government organizations, as information is being inaccessible to the people. This system will help people to access the needed information. This digital platform proposal will be presented to the cabinet shortly”.

Speaking at the launch of the Information and Communication Technology Agency’s National IT-BPM workshop survey, he said, the IT industry is the fourth income gainer in the country. “In a few years, the annual export income will reach USD five billion, and currently it stands at USD 1.2 billion.

“In the income gainer for the country, information technology stands in fourth position.The IT industry is becoming a fast-growing job-generating venture. The IT field will help develop the country and take it to great heights with those involved in the respective sector,” he added.
