Sampath Bank hosts Sampath Saviya - SME Forum in Kandy

Sampath Bank recently conducted a one-day business forum in Kandy titled ‘Sampath Saviya - SME forum,’ a development programme targeting Micro, Small and Medium scale Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) to provide them key practical approaches to drive business success.

The forum comprised of four sessions; leadership development, sales tactics to enhance sales, psychological approaches, branding and an extensive panel discussion where participants were able to clarify any doubts or ask relevant questions.

The forum was held free of charge for all participants and was attended by over 170 entrepreneurs representing different trades from different industries. The distinguished panel of experts conducting the forum included Deepal Sooriyaarachchi - Director of Sampath Bank PLC, Management Consultant, Executive Coach and Author, Suranjith Godagama Senior Consultant in Sales Training, Coaching and Personal Financial Planning and Chandana Gunawardane - Human Potential Development Trainer and Author.

“We are always willing to lend a hand to help develop small and medium entrepreneurs as they are the backbone of this country’s economy. The advice we give them today will enable them to succeed in any field they wish to pursue. From leadership to sales to branding, the advice we have given them will hold them in a good stead and help them make better decisions in their business activities. In future we hope to see them as successful business leaders taking the county forward,” said Thusitha Nakandala, Deputy General Manager - Branch Banking of Sampath Bank PLC.

Launched in 2013 ‘Sampath Saviya’ is the bank’s development programme for entrepreneurs which aim to develop the MSME sector. Since its launch in 2013, Sampath Bank has conducted several projects across the island in partnership with the National Chamber of Commerce, Export Development Board, Universities, Regional Chambers and Divisional Secretariats and helped over 2500 MSME entrepreneurs to date.
