JMI members being questioned

The 3 members of the Jammiyathul Millathu Ibrahim (JMI) banned organization are being questioned under detention orders. The Ampara Police had arrested three members of the Jammiyathul Millathu Ibrahim  (JMI) Organization yesterday, believed to have received weapons training with Mohammed Saharan the radical Muslim preacher accused of masterminding the Easter Sunday attacks.

The three suspects had been arrested by the Ampara Police.

According to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara, the three suspects have been identified as Mohammed Mansoor Seifullah Haq alias Abu Saheed, a resident of Kaligamuwa, Geli-Oya who had received his training in Nuwara Eliya, Musthaq Ali Amhar alias Abuhind, a resident of Walpoladeniya, Mawanella who had received his training in Hambantota and Mohammadu Thahir Hidayatullah alias Abuthurab, a resident of Sahanagama, Mawanella who had received his arms training in Nuwara Eliya. He is also a student of the Oluvil University.

Further investigations are being carried out by the Ampara Police.
