Strike threat at London Heathrow

Heathrow Airport authorities warned passengers that flights may be disrupted today and tomorrow if last minute talks with unions fail and airport staff go on strike.

The Airport has cancelled 177 flights on Monday and Tuesday (August 5 and 6) after a union vote rejected a pay offer, the BBC reported.

The BBC quoting a Heathrow spokeswoman said: “While the vast majority of flights will be unaffected, some airlines are making arrangements

to operate flights from other UK airports; others will be delaying flights; and unfortunately a number will be cancelled”

“We recommend passengers check their flight status before travelling to the airport and read the guidance on to prepare for their journey.” the spokeswoman told the BBC.
