Life’s nuances in poems

Susumata Aruthak’ (Meaning for Sigh) is Nalika Samankumari’s first poetry book. It contains 70 small poems that she scribed on her Facebook page from time to time. Being abroad, she has been writing poems on Facebook for many years. Her dedication to writing poems and her talent in weaving enticing lines amply show in her poems that she included in her book, `Susumata Aruthak’.


Veteran lyricist Bandara Ehaliyagoda, therefore, in an epilogue for her book lauds Nalika’s effort. He says she shows signs of a good poet. A few of her poems in the book sing us beauty of nature and value of humanity. In a few lines, she is able to provide her readership with deep meaning of nuances of life and nature.

Nalika has received her primary education from Medepola Maha Vidyalaya and Wickramashila National School, Giriulla. Thereafter, she received her secondary education from Siripura Central College and Dehiattakandiya National School. She also holds a Diploma in Mass Media.

Rohana Hettiarachchi, the proprietor of Ro Entertainment, a publication and designing company, seeing her poems on the Facebook, brought her poems into the limelight as a book.
