Nugegoda Josephians enter second round

The under 15 division three cricket team of St. Joseph’s College, Nugegoda has qualified for the second round of the cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association for the Singer Trophy 2019. They are coached by Lasantha Hemal while the prefect of Games is Viraj Chatura and the two Masters in charge are Pramidu Madushanka and Roshan Fernando respectively. The success behind Nugegoda Joes is the Principal Revi Bro. Sunanda Alwis who is a tower of strength for cricket in the school.

The team is captained by an all rounder Venuka Bandara and in the first round out of four matches they won against Piliyandala Central and Lumbini Vidyalya and lost to Ediriweera Sarathchandra Vidyalya and drew with St. John’s College Nugegoda in their favour. In the forthcoming second round they are down to play three matches. Their chief run getter is the skipper Venuka Bandara and Menuka Vithanage claimed most number of wickets.
