Sri Sumangala’s Vimukthi Perera misses century

Sri Sumangala College, Panadura beat St. John’s College, Nugegoda by 24 runs on the first innings in their inter-school under 15 division one cricket tournament match played at Piliyandala.

Batting first Nugegoda Johnians made 128 and in reply, Sumangalians declared at 162 for six with Kavindu Gayathra scoring 80. At stumps Johnians were 91 for four.

In another game in division three, Sumangalians beat Sri Dharmaloka Maha Vidyalaya, Bobuwala on first innings by 115 runs at Panadura.

Batting first, Sri Sumangala scored 201 with Vimukthi Perera missing a well deserved century by three runs.

In reply, the visitors were all out for 56 with Thishine Fonseka claiming two for 27. At the close, Sumangalians were 135 for six with Vimukthi Perera scoring 51. Naveen Jayantha claimed four for 25.
