Singer Cup U-17 Div. 2 Cricket Tournament:

20 teams advance to second round

Twenty teams advanced to the second round of the Singer Trophy Under 17 Division Two inter-school cricket tournament.

Forty-six teams participated in nine groups in the first round. Twenty teams divided into four groups will play on a round robin format. The champion and runner-up teams in every group number eight teams will qualify to the quarter-final round.

This tournament is conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association in association with Singer Sri Lanka PLC.

The second round matches of the tournament will be conclude on August 20.

Prince of Wales College ‘B’, Moratuwa, Vijayaba National School, Hungama, Carey College, Colombo, Nalanda Boys School, Minuwangoda, Royal College ‘B’, Colombo, Royal College, Polonnaruwa, Thurstan College ‘B’, Colombo, Jaffna Central College, Karandeniya Central College, St. Patrick's College, Jaffna, S. Thomas’ College ‘B’, Mt. Lavinia, and St. Joseph’s College, Enderamulla, advanced to the second round as group champions in the first round.

Following are the groups for the second round:

Group K - Prince of Wales College ‘B’, Moratuwa, Henegama Central College, Jaffna Central College, St. Peter's College ‘B’, Colombo, Vijayaba National School Hungama

Group L - Carey College, Colombo, Anuradhapura Central College, St. Joseph’s College ‘B’, Colombo, St. Sebastian's College ‘B’, Moratuwa, Nalanda Boys School, Minuwangoda

Group M - Royal College ‘B’, Colombo, Maliyadeva Model School, Kurunegala, Lyceum International School, Wattala, Wadduwa Central College, Royal College, Polonnaruwa

Group N - Thurstan College ‘B’, Colombo, Karandeniya Central College, St. Patrick's College, Jaffna , S. Thomas’ College ‘B’, Mt. Lavinia, St. Joseph’s College, Enderamulla
