The tourism in the country is reviving now after the Easter Sunday bomb blasts, Sigiriya Project Manager Major Anura Nishantha said.

In the off season, arrivals of foreign tourists decline every year. However, over 1,200 foreign tourists visits Sigiriya daily and now in the off season, about 900-1000 foreigners visit Sigiriya every day, he said.

The Dambulla rock temple also attracts a high number of local and foreign tourists, he said..

Tourist hotels and guesthouses in Dambulla, Sigiriya and Habarana have now opened. These locations were closed down last three months, he said.

Nishantha said the number of tourists’ arrivals will be increased further in coming months.
