Drugs shortage in hospitals - GMOA

The Health Minister is carrying out a foreign conspiracy aimed at destroying the established systems to weaken the country, the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) said.

GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge said the GMOA has all evidence and witnesses to prove the lies uttered by him repeatedly to mislead the public and Parliament.

"Now the same persons appointed by him to certain positions such as Prof. Asitha De Silva accepts the fact that the Minister lied," he said.

Meanwhile, the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital Branch of the GMOA told a press conference that there is a a severe drug shortage in the hospital at the moment. Medical Supplies Division's (MSD) Dr. Thusitha Sudarshana said that those drugs have been provided sometime back after shortages occurred at clinics and now all the drugs are freely available at the hospital and at the MSD.Addressing a press conference held at the GMOA headquarters he said the people will reject him at the next election, but said he should be taken into custody before that, for what he did to destroy the health system of Sri Lanka.
