Voluntary forest trackers protest

Wildlife Trackers in town for job upgrade : Voluntary forest trackers yesterday held a protest opposite the Sri Lanka Tourism Ministry demanding that the authorities absorb them into the permanent cadre of the Department of Wildlife. They said a batch of 42 of them were to be made permanent by the department. However, Wildlife Department sources said that they have sent a paper seeking approval for the permanency of all these trackers to the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Christian Affairs.
