The Lanka Hospitals cricket team has qualified for the second round of the Mercantile Cricket Tournament.

Participating in Mercantile cricket for the very first time, Lanka Hospitals demonstrated a strong overall performance by becoming one of the top 16 teams out of 48 teams to enter the pre-quarter finals.

The team won four consecutive matches during the first round of the Mercantile Cricket Tournament and topped the group G, thereby becoming one of the front-runners in the tournament.

The team won a series of matches against ICBT by 9 wickets, Zillione Technologies by 7 wickets, HNB Assurance by 5 wickets and Ceyline Holdings by 7 wickets.

For the first time in the history of Lanka Hospitals, the official cricket team was launched in May this year with the objective of developing interaction among corporates and to foster and to build comradery and bonds among staff members. This is part of the hospitals’ core beliefs in developing staff morale and in sustaining work-life balance by motivation and skill development.
