Sparklink Travels marks 40th anniversary

Sparklink Travels, Liberty Arcade Colombo 3, headed by Nihal Perera, a former Director of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and an award winner and a legend in the Travel Industry, marks the completion of four decades in Travel Excellence in the Travel, Tourism, Aviation and Hospitality industry in Sri Lanka and internationally on August 8.

One of the two company Directors, Praki Perera has set up an International Travel arm, Sparklink in Melbourne, while Navein Perera has assumed the position of Managing Director to steer the company to meet modern day demands. Another of Sparklink Travel’s notable achievement is the active promotion of Thomas Cook Holidays in Sri Lanka, offering a wide range of Holiday Packages worldwide, with cruises to ‘Explore the World’ and offering attractive deals on airfares.

“We wish to take this opportunity to show our gratitude to our valued clients, all internationally connected partners in travel worldwide - Airlines, Civil Aviation Authority, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Ministry of Tourism and Banks for assisting us to sustain our role in the Travel, Tourism, Aviation and Hospitality industry of Sri Lanka and Internationally,” said Nihal Perera.

“As a pioneer and legend in the travel and tourism sector for over five decades, serving the public and private sectors, Sparklink Travels would continue to satisfy the customers and their demands in all aspects of travel with outbound travel and inbound travel with the associate company, Sparklink Holidays and Tours.”

Nihal added that the company promoted its travel services since 1979, with intelligence, empathy and hard work to go forward in the Travel Industry to survive in tumultuous times over the past several years, with the vision and mission to achieve success in providing travel services to all our valued clients.

Nihal Perera also served as Chairman of Airline Services (Pvt.) Ltd., a subsidiary company of Ceylon Hotels Corporation which was GSA for British Airways in Sri Lanka, appointed by Late Minister, S. Thondaman.
