A.C.Abdullah, a student of Al-Kalam Maha Vidyalaya, Pottuvil is a talented young sportsman who has won dozens of certificates, medals, cups and trophies for sports events at Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial Levels.
A.C.Abdullah, participated in Eastern Province Athletic Championship-2019 competitions conducted by the Eastern Province Education Department held at the Kantale Leelaratna Grounds recently and won three first places for Long Jump(5.18m), 100m(12.5 Sec) and 80m (10.1 Sec) events securing three gold medals and certificates for Under-14(men) age category.
Winner and his Coach and Physical Education Teacher A.H.Thabarani were congratulated by the Pottuvil Al-Kalam Maha Vidyalaya Principal M.A.C.M.Shihabdeen, Teachers, Parents, Akkaraipattu Zonal Education Office Assistant Education Director (Physical Education) S.M.Jameel and Akkaraipattu Zonal Education Director A.M.Rahmathullah.
Students from Eastern Province Schools including Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomlee Districts competed in 116 events at the five-day event where Eastern Province Education Department Director M.K.M.Mansoor presided over.
