Sri Lankan fishing trawlers trapped in seas

The Fisheries Ministry announced that action has been taken to divert over 20 multi-day fishing trawlers which were stranded in International waters to the Maldivian coast due to the prevailing inclement weather.

According to the Ministry, fishing trawlers had been trapped near Maldives and India since yesterday and have not been able to reach the Sri Lankan coast.
