SI, PC injured in gamblimg den raid

A sub-inspector and a police constable were injured after stones were pelted at them when they had raided a gambling den at Dodangoda, Kalutara yesterday (16) afternoon.

The police had arrived at the location at around 12.30 pm, they had received on a tip-off. The gamblers had escaped and one suspect was apprehended by police personnel and taken into custody. Several individuals had pelted objects at the police when the police had attempted to take a motorcycle into custody.

The two police officers are receiving treatment at the Nagoda General Hospital.

Police are conducting further investigation.
