Rs. 400 mn under Gamperaliya project for each electorate

The Cabinet has approved to double the Rs. 200 million allocation for the Gamperaliya Rural Development Programme.

Under this move every electorate will receive Rs 400 million each, under the Gamperaliya Rural Development Programme, which was implemented under the 2018 budget proposal. The increased amount will be allocated from next week. Allocations are utilised to improve infrastructure and welfare facilities such as health, roads, education drinking water, electricity, hygienic facilities and housing.

The Minister said that all these infrastructure and welfare projects will be carried out promptly aiming to increase the living standards of people while improving their income.
