The biggest MICE event after the Easter Blasts on April 21, the 46th ARTDO International World Conference will be held from September 23 to 25 at Hilton Colombo.

Earlier conferences have been held in Philippines, India, New Zealand, Fiji, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bahrain,   Egypt, Australia, Middle East and Sudan and there would high spenders who have already books suites in Colombo hotels to attend the event brining in high revenue to the country.  ‘Over 20 world renowned HR and Management gurus and specialists in several fields will be in Sri Lanka to share their knowledge and experiences at this year’s conference, and that does Sri Lanka proud,’ he said. ‘The CEO Forum at the conference is one of a kind in this kind of pow-wow, while the Women Empowerment and Leadership session that’s equally high wattage and catches the global zeitgeist, will  be graced by Royal Princess GKR Mangkubumi of Indonesia together with Lakmini Wijesundara (Iron One Technologies, Sri Lanka), Rita Goh (Malaysia), and Koko Nakahara,” President Fernando added. ‘Also, top notch legal experts will address legal practitioners in a session resourced by Kalinga Indatissa, PC (President, BASL), T. Gunaseelan (Advocate – Malaysia) and Dr Harsha Cabraal, PC’. Anil Gammanpila (Australia) will speak at featured sessions on Leadership Styles in the Digital Age, and Paul Jambunathan (Malaysia) on Applied Emotional Intelligence.

Forays into exciting explorative themes in the HRD and management sphere, such as artificial intelligence, emotional intelligence etc, and sustainability practices and environment that are hot button topics, will be a feature  in the plenary and concurrent sessions. Formed in 1974, ARTDO is made up  of national organizations, training and education institutions, HRD practitioners and multinational companies from over 30 countries worldwide. Annually conferences have been held in Philippines, India, New Zealand, Fiji, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bahrain,   Egypt, Australia, Middle East and Sudan.

Among conference highlights will be a session on Sustainable Development Goalsand the Role of NGOs chaired by Ahmed Alhendawi (Jordan) Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (formerly the United Nations’ youth envoy), featuring panelists Eric de Graaf (Netherlands), Irving Huang (Taiwan) and Chevaan Daniel (Sri Lanka).
