NCM against Government to be taken up today, tomorrow

The No-Confidence Motion brought by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) against the Government will be taken up in Parliament for debate today and tomorrow.

The Party Leaders during a meeting chaired by the Speaker on Monday agreed to go ahead with the No-Confidence Motion on Prime Minister, Cabinet and Government on Wednesday and Thursday as previously scheduled. The vote will be held around 6.30pm on Thursday.

The No-Confidence Motion has been brought against the government of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for failing to take measures to prevent the Islamist extremist terrorist attacks that were carried out on Easter Sunday (April 21st) despite alleged prior information regarding such attacks.

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) also held a street demonstrations against the government with a rally at Nugegoda on Monday..
