Govt. to appoint Commission to regulate Islamic education

The Government has decided to appoint a Commission aiming at regulating Islamic education.

The Cabinet of Ministers on Sunday approved a memorandum for the draft of a Bill in this regard.

It has been proposed to include the Secretaries of Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Muslim Religious Affairs as the members of this Commission.

The Cabinet of Ministers arrived at this decision at its meeting on Sunday presided over by President Maithripala Sirisena.
