MCC Chairman in letter to PM says:

MCC committed to advancing proposed 480 mn dollars compact with Govt.

New CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Sean Cairncross in a letter to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the MCC is committed to advancing the proposed 480 million dollars compact that the two governments have jointly developed to address major constraints in the Sri Lankan economy related to transport and land administration.

Cairncross, in a letter to the Prime Minister after the new appointment said that they are eager for the compact to move forward in a timely manner at this crucial stage.

“I look forward to your continued leadership to advance our shared goal of promoting growth and reducing poverty for the Sri Lankan people.”

Excerpts from the letter: “I am pleased to greet you as the Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). I was sworn in on June 24 and am honoured to lead such a remarkable agency and talented staff.”

“We are eager for the compact to move forward in a timely manner at this crucial stage. I look forward to your continued leadership to advance our shared goal of promoting growth and reducing poverty for the Sri Lankan people.”
