Motocyclist fined Rs. 80,000

Galle Additional Magistrate Pavitra Sanjeewani Pathjirana imposed a fine of Rs. 80,000 on a motorcyclist who pleaded guilty to the offences of riding a motorcycle under the influence of liquor and not having a valid riding licence and other legal documents for the vehicle.

The suspect was identified as Galla Hewage Gamini. He was arrested around 11pm in Yatagala, Unawatuna.

The suspect was fined Rs. 25,000 for riding while drunk, Rs. 25,000 for riding with no riding licence, Rs. 15,000 for riding with no revenue licence, and Rs. 15,000 for riding with no insurance certificate, making for a total fine of Rs. 80,000.
