NiApreneurs, a social enterprise with a difference was launched recently in Colombo with the objective of empowering communities through transformative collaborations with socially conscious business partners.

With a business model aligned with the principles of sustainable development, NiApreneurs addresses pressing social, ecological and economic challenges through a market-driven approach.

“NiApreneurs exists for a purpose and that purpose is for a passion, we look at social problems in a different perspective,” said Co-Founder/Director, NiApreneurs, Nilani Seneviratne. She said that in order to build careers worth having, businesses worth owning and lives worth living, they plan to create and sustain social values while accelerating growth opportunities to bring what best fits the beneficiaries by engaging in the process of continuous innovation, adaptation and learning.

This is a venture which will be addressing a huge gap in the market not only from the enterprise and impact but also from the talent perspective in this country. “If Sri Lanka needs to be a middle income country, then we need to get the best out of the human workforce we have,” said Member –Advisory Board, NiApreneurs, Dr. Nirmal De Silva.

If there is purpose and passion in a person, then they could operate more efficiently, thus the required encouragement needs to be given to these people to make them what they are. “This is what NiApreneurs is all about and if we need to have a fundamental shift in attitude of people it should be initiated by empowering people,” De Silva said.
