Lanka Hospitals delivers 1250th IVF baby

Lanka Hospitals, announced the successful delivery of 1250 IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) babies. The Lanka Hospitals Fertility Centre has set several benchmarks in the sub-fertility field in Sri Lanka such as the delivery of the first pregnancy through vitrification, high pregnancy rates with blastocyst transfers and has implemented novel investigations such as Reactive Oxygen in Semen (ROS) and sperm DNA fragmentation analysis to identify male factor infertility in order to increase the chance of conception.

Additionally a new technology called (Pre-implantation Genetic) will also be introduced in the near future. This will enable the embryo to be checked for genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome, Hemophilia and Thalassemia before being transferred into the womb.
