Incredible chocolate art installation

Richmond City Hall Galleria hosted a special art installation – made of chocolate. The installation titled “Wild Sweets cocoArt – from cocoa bean to chocolate to art!” was presented by local award-winning chocolatier Wild Sweets, with sculptures made entirely out of chocolate.

Print canvases of photography inspired by the company’s signature chocolates was on display from April 17 to June 18.

“We are very pleased to collaborate with the Wild Sweets creative team to highlight a unique approach to art, using chocolate as their medium, at the (galleria),” said Shaun Dacey, director of the Richmond Art Gallery, who also manages City Hall Galleria.

“The Richmond Art Gallery aims to support local artists, and the upcoming Wild Sweets installation is a novel and completely distinct addition to the gallery.”

For this installation, Wild Sweets has partnered with graphic artist Linda Mitsui to create the chocolate sculptures that weigh about 75 pounds each and which are designed in the shapes of “Abstract Geometry,” according to the company.

“We’re excited to collaborate with the Richmond Art Gallery and City Hall Gallery to launch a first-of-its-kind chocolate art installation,” said Dominique Duby, co-founder of Wild Sweets.

“As long-time international culinary art competitors and world acclaimed chocolatiers, we are always seeking new ways to push creative boundaries through science, but also art. As local entrepreneurs and world leaders in our field, we look forward to showing our community members a completely different perspective on chocolate through art at this exhibition.”Vancover is Awesome
