Galle Labuduwa ATI student attacked

A second-year student of Labuduwa Advanced Technological Institute, Galle was assaulted with bicycle chains by an unidentified group of four, while he was walking along the Karapitiya- Labuduwa road on Sunday, a Galle Police Superintendent said.

The student was attacked at around 7.00 pm over a dispute which occurred between two groups of the Engineering and Management Faculties a few days ago.

The victim was admitted to the Emergency Trauma Unit (ETU) of Galle Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

Special police security has been provided to the institute since Monday morning.

Akmeemana Police are conducting further investigations.
